S corp setup and consulting FAQ
When does an S corp make sense?
In general, it starts to pay off once a business clears roughly $100,000 a year in profit, though your salary, other income and costs all change the math. A free consultation is the fastest way to find out.
When is the S corp election due?
To take effect for a calendar year, Form 2553 must be filed by March 15 of that year, or any time during the year before. However, relief is often available for late elections.
How much salary should an S corp owner pay themselves?
The IRS requires a reasonable salary based on your duties, experience, time spent and what similar businesses pay. For that reason, I help you set a number you can support.
How much does consulting cost?
It depends on the project. As a result, after a free consultation, you get a quote before any work begins.
Do you work with businesses outside Michigan?
Yes. In addition to local clients, I work with business owners remotely nationwide.
